HEAT was opened in July 2005 by a restaurateur with the fascination of great food, fun atmosphere, good service and movies including HEAT, starring Robert De Niro & Al Pacino as well as other gangster movies
The owner's fascination with the film as well as other gangster movies marked the beginning of a new venture, creating a new concept in drinking and dining in Malta. It was the first place on the island where one can dine and after party all night long. Apart from that the name encompasses three main elements related to the restaurant industry – the atmosphere, heat as in high temperature and the food.
HEAT’s owner was the first to believe in the Valletta Waterfront project and has seen the fruits of his investment grow everyday. The Valletta Waterfront project brought entertainment to a whole new level. Set within historical surroundings, the Valletta Waterfront combines old and new. Built by Grandmaster Pinto in the 18th century, the magnificent warehouses have been converted into Malta’s most grandiose setting for entertainment and dining extravaganza.
Open till late everyday, the restaurant turns into a nightclub with some of Malta’s best deejays as well as dancers every Friday night.
At HEAT you can also relax and watch your favourite sports events on big screens and plasmas. Here you can watch live football matches from the English Premier League and Italian Seria 'A', European Champions League, UEFA Cup, Europa Cup and the World Cup, as well as the Formula 1 GP and Moto GP races and other sports events while enjoying a scrumptious meal or your favourite drink.
